More #followfriday (w/ a special newbie)...

Ok people! Here we are again with another edition of #FollowFriday on Twitter. It's mostly the usual suspects, but there are some new kids on the block; particularly SHITmyCoworkerSays aka @shitmycwrkrsays It's great and it has a lot of potential hope a lot of you follow it.

On a different note, I continue to be busy and most of the time it's great. Why? Well it's great to have fun every single day, but it's not great when one loses precious sleep; to some extent, that is. After many sleepless nights, I start looking like shit; make up no longer does wonders...LoL, it's true.

I have a birthday coming up and 2 more shows. I know, I had said no more shows, but who can resist missing Wolfmother and Matt & Kim or the Silversun Pickups? I missed Silversun at Coachella because I opted to watch Paul McCartney & Crystal Method instead. Well, I'm done spending money. I have to save for my trip to England.

Yes! I am super excited that my Christmas vacation to England was approved. I am so looking forward to it. I don't know what to expect, but who cares. I just know I will have a great time. This will be my second time traveling to Europe, but my first to England. I never have experienced snow, so it's sort of great. I know I won't be prepared for the different weather, but oh well. Lotsa Stuff

Definitely lotsa stuff is happening. As always, I've been busy, but not as much. I've come to a point where I should slow down, just a bit, that is. Realistically I can't do everything or please every one. I should maybe cut down on my number of friends, but I won't. Everyone is cool in their own and I like that; not all are like me or think like me.

I've cut down on concerts partly because I spent way too much money on them this year and I also need to save up for my UK trip. I've heard everything is much more expensive than in any other European country. If I go, I'll be going with BFF1. Luckily she knows her way around since she lived in London for a while. I'm a little excited now, but as time approaches I'm going to be a nervous wreck and super excited.

Let's see, a lot of my favorite bands are from England or Scotland: Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Franz Ferdinand (from Scotland), Joy Division, New Order, just to name a few. Hmm, I also like David Beckham, who is British, as well as Prince William. I also like Earl Grey tea...LoL. What else??? I like men with British accents...Yowza!

On a different note, I am pretty stoked about my new venture: helping the needy in a very minimalist way. As mentioned in a previous post, I started volunteering for Burrito Project Silverlake and now I joined another chapter (West L.A.). The groups are very different. One consists of a punk rock crowd/hipsters and the other consists of former college party animals (I really identify with this crowd because they remind me of my hey days). I like both crowds because they all share the same interest: helping the needy.

I am going to stick to both for as long as I can. I'm glad I stumbled on this thanks to social networking (FaceBook to be specific). I also started volunteering at the L.A. Regional Food Bank and will continue doing that because the need is great. I have been thinking of starting my own charity and started to look into it. I've been wanting to start a project for quite some time. I started talking to some people these last couple of days about my idea and started to do some research. I still want to do event planning, but I'm putting that in the back burner. We'll see what happens...definitely lotsa stuff going on.

Another addiction...

Ok this is great! I'm relieved and surprised (again) at the results. This is too amusing. BUT I am a little concerned because Facebook is referred by @Oatmeal as "sorta like snorting cocaine, except with tags and stuff." Why am I concerned? Because a previous FB quiz that I took, "What work of literature are you?" with the result as "The Hound of the Baskervilles."said the following: "Well, you might not exactly be Sherlock Holmes, but you wish you were... or at least you wish you were Watson. You love deciphering clues and being challenged by a mystery. You love the smell of danger and intrigue. You might even have a cocaine habit..." Yikes! cocaine habit!?!?! this is definitely of great concern.

Or how about this other quiz I took entitled, "What does the week you were born in say about you?" WHOA! Check this out: "You are fascinated by different forms of escape and when used in a healthy way; love television, movies, music and books, but addiction is also common to drugs, alcohol, sex and violence.” Again, WHOA!!! and YIKES!!

Well I'm glad these are just stupid and entertaining quizzes and do not reflect who I really am. laters...

One of my addictions...

Really?? that's it?? I was thinking it was going to be higher, but considering recent events, I am not surprised. If I'd taken this quiz 2 months ago, I'd I say I was 99.4% percent addicted. What a funny and cute quiz...love it! ...rehab, anyone? I guess I do have some addictions and issues I need to resolve; Twitter, being the #1 addiction. Well, I guess it's better than being an alcoholic or druggie, right? ...LoL

The Facebook Phenomena: My demise?

For a very long time I refused to join all the millions. My friends kept on pressuring me to join even though I see them a lot. Well, a week and half ago I gave into Facebook. Why the hesitation on your part you ask? Well, because I'm a Twitter addict and I feel I can't deal with another web social network. Like all addicts we need to avoid all that will make us hit rock bottom , e.g. an alcoholic who has to avoid bars, house parties, clubs, liquor stores, etc. Because if he/she doesn't, she/he will probably end up dead. Though I very much doubt death will be the end result of me being addicted to web social networks, one can end up in rehab...lol.

Who are my friends you ask? BFF1, BFF2, 5 old classmates from Catholic school (from childhood), GP1 (gal pal) and her sister, 2 other friends I met about 8 years ago at random college parties and one through my sister. I've had others from work ask me to add them as friends, but I don't want them to know too much about my private life. My coworkers only know so much about me and I want to keep it that way. Sorry. Yep that is a total of 12 friends whom I consider as good friends (well except for 3). These people know so much shit about me it isn't funny. God forbid the day they all would decide to get together to conspire to write my biography. WOW, scary! I do plan to add others only if they ask me to. I really don't want to invade their privacy.

Also, don't forget that I'm consistently (in my terms) keeping up with this blog. This blog only reveals stuff that I like to do for fun and stuff that I like. No, this is not a window into my life; well only a minute fraction. The sole purpose of this blog is to entertain and I can say that I am achieving that purpose. It's fun and another cyberspace form for recording my antics and musings. Some of my coworkers are allowed to read this, but not all because they can be judgmental and jealous...lol.

One thing I do want to say is that I don't want this to get out of hand or else I'll end up at Promises (with Lindsey Lohan & on page 6 ); no thank you! LMAO. Now the super important question to ask is will Facebook be my demise? Stay tuned...

Twitter.com & texting are my vices. About tweeting, I tell my friends that Twitter is my source of all kinds of information and news. As far as texting, I really don't like to talk on the phone much b/c I get distracted a lot by my surroundings; and thereby am not really paying attention to what the other person is saying...oops just admitted something I wasn't supposed say outloud, oh well. So there, that is why is tweet and text so much.
