I was in San Francisco today to celebrate my sister's birthday
...woohoo! And what better place to find orange hued fabulous items. At the Castro district I met some fun people willing to let me "fotograff" them. I met this friendly and cool dude by the name of Adam Q. He was wearing this fabulous citrus toned watch...TA-DAH!!

Eye Primer: a must have for women!!

I haven't written a review on anything in a while, but here it is; this is mainly for women. I don't know about you, but I have oily skin and tend to be very warm blooded; meaning that I tend to be warm most of the time no matter what. Weird, I know.

Case in point, because of my skin type and body temperature, make up does not last very long on me, especially eye make up. It's quite awful if you may ask and I am sick of it. I have tried so much stuff that nothing has worked until now. I present to you Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion. It's the best thing ever!! No joke or gimmick, in fact I am not getting paid for this.

My eyeshadow or eyeliner never smudges or smears. It stays put until I remove it. It's fabulous and I am in love!! There have been times when I wear it alone and it gives me a nice refreshing glow to my face. If you are going through the same trouble that I am, then try this. Added bonus: its vegan!!

An 80's X-mas...totally!!

Aaahhh!! the Eighties!! what a great decade!! Sure everything was a little extreme and a tad lavish, but no one can't deny how great everything was, including the music. I consider myself a child of the 80's. Sure I was a tween during the heart of it all, but still isn't that considered your formative years of your adolescence and those memories that you will carry with you forever? Well it makes sense to me. I've said it here before, I first became aware of music back in 1983-4. My parents used to leave me alone with my sister when they needed to go to the store, so I used to take advantage of the situation and watch the forbidden stuff on t.v. Gosh, now that I think back, I have always been mischievous.

And by forbidden channels, I mean anything that wasn't a cartoon. Yes, that is all I could watch, but once they left me alone, I would tune it and watch on the tube Request Video. I was obsessed with that show. Richard Blade, a former dj for the L.A. radio station (KROQ), was dreamy (and old, of course); oh and he had that hot British accent. :)

Anyway, I remember being enchanted with all these singers and bands like, Madonna, Duran Duran, Wham!, Michael Jackson, etc. Man, was I hooked! I couldn't believe there was other music aside from the Platters, the Beatles, KISS.... OR Los Dandys and Perez Prado (Spanish stuff my mom used to listen to). Finally there was something cool that I can relate to and that I can listen to; something for us kids. The first video I saw and loved was Madonna's, Lucky Star.

Then followed my enchantment with Simon LeBon of Duran Duran in their video, Rio. Damn he looked hot in that white suit on that boat!! I so wanted to be there, even though I didn't know how to swim. Which brings me to the other favorite group of mine, WHAM! Aaah, George Michael was cute. And no I didn't suspect he was gay, plus I don't think I was aware of "gayness," for a lack or better words, at my tender young age of 10/11.

Blah, blah, blah, then the music mogul, Bob Geldoff decides to form Band Aid (the British/Irish charity super group) and it was awesome. Not to divert from the subject at hand, but this was the time in history when the world was focusing on Africa, specifically Ethiopia. I went to a Catholic school and the Irish nuns were good at giving us the guilt trip about the poor starving Ethiopian kids. Those nuns were sneaky...lmao, no really!!

So, what is the point of this blog post? Well I wanted to present to you two great Christmas videos from the Eighties; Band Aid's, "Do they know it's Christmas" and Wham!'s, "Last Christmas!" These are some of my favorite and cool Christmas songs! Which reminds me of the non existent use of the word Christmas...and no I won't get into it now; though I will at a later time.

Let's be thankful....

I am writing this many days after the Thanksgiving holiday only because I haven't had time to do it before.

The holidays always bring out that melancholic/reflective mood in everyone. No matter how cheerful one is, all fall victim of it. I put on a front everyday because I feel like I need to. If I am not happy or positive about life then I would be on meds, in therapy, or in the hospital. It's very easy to be negative, but a challenge to be positive. And since it's my life and I will only live once, I choose to be positive and happy.

At this point in my life, I am very thankful about everything. 2010 has been quite an eventful year. Too much to blog about. In a nutshell, I had 2 fall outs with 2 people, I was in England for the previous holiday, a person close to me is preggers, I transferred out of my schleppy job, I've met a ton of people, my father was diagnosed with diabetes, a friend from high school died, and I am hardly volunteering anymore. I am surprised I haven't gone nuts, yet, but seriously things could be worse. REALLY!!

All I can say is that my life is great and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am grateful for everything that I have and don't have. I strongly believe that things happen for a reason.

So, what are you thankful for?

On Friendships

a topic that is underrated or just out right ignored is Friendships! Believe it or to some these aren't that important, why? I don't know and I'll never know. As the years have gone by I've learned to value some friendships and others, well they are just acquaintances.

Life according to luvlyloops seems quite complicated yet it's quite simple. My viewpoints on life have obviously changed throughout the years. What I used to think was perhaps insignificant is now the opposite... huh? simple, I have matured-I mean that is exactly what is supposed to happen when you enter adulthood, right?

Sure I was immature and somewhat caddy/snobbish during my 20's and perhaps up until my early 30's, but no more. I still have my reservations about some things, but for the most part I have let go of a lot. Life is just too short to be mean to others. Now this doesn't mean that I won't defend myself or others when appropriate because one thing I hate is injustice and bullying. I can't stand it and will speak up no matter what.

This post comes about a struggle I went through earlier this year. After a somewhat turbulent brief period, I realized that this person was truly awful. I guess I never saw it. I have always wanted to believe that there is good in everyone and I seriously believed that. Little did I know that people close to me can be fake and thereby twisted. This person in particular was someone very important in my life; someone I truly cared about for many years. Something happened earlier this year that opened my eyes to how he/she really was.

In the beginning, this person was fun, nice, sweet, and spontaneous. We nearly shared the same interests; we had lots of fun but things went sour this past holiday. I don't know what was going on with him/her, but he/she wasn't a pretty person at all. In fact, he/she was just plain mean to me. I don't know what I did to him/her, but I was more than supportive with his/her drama and issues. It wasn't my fault he/she was having drama with his/her significant other; I wasn't part of that relationship.

At that point, I decided that enough was enough. I no longer was willing to put up with this mean person. How come my other friends (new and old), weren't mean to me? Sure there are always problems in every relationship (significant others, BFF's, bf's, siblings, parents), but we try to resolve things by dealing with them. Somehow, if both parties are willing to work things out, things will get resolved and all is fine and dandy.

With me, our issue wasn't new and I did express my discontent many times and was told it would never happen again and apologized. That he/she wouldn't be insensitive anymore and I truly believed. Nonetheless, he/she went back to his/her old ways and made our time together a nightmare (there is no other way to put it). I didn't enjoy my time and I was miserable. Needless to say, this affected the outcome of our event. I hated it and have no good memories of it. I never want to relive it again.

Why now? Why the mystery of the gender of the person? Well this person reads my blog every so often and it's taken me this long to come to terms with it. It was a great struggle for me to write this because I had to relive this nightmare all over again. I guess, now, I somewhat put it behind me. But I will say this, my friendship with this person is no longer the same. We aren't BFF's anymore because BFF's don't do stuff like that to each other. We are merely casual friends. BFF's just aren't mean!

I just hope this person realizes that I have feelings too and that I am human being on this planet that deserves to treated right and to be validated. Peace & love to all!!

Here is the post I've been meaning to post for quite some time...(if the shoe fits, then so be it!)

As always, lots has been going on with me; too much drama caused by jealous people and the like. I usually think, and I may be wrong about this, that most people get so caught with the every day problems at home, with friends, marriage, and work that they lose themselves in all that drama. They become so unhappy and spread their venom to others who are the opposite from them.

Some of us are trying to stay away from bitter people and trying to have fun because we have a life outside of work and life is short. It's so easy to get caught up with the daily life and after a while it can become dreadful. And when that happens some tend to spill over their negativity unto others; it's harsh but so true.

My entire life I have been plagued with nosy jealous people always trying to find out what I do after work, for example. Don't know why they are so curious and fascinated, if you want to believe that I live a crazy life well good for you. It's none of your business just as it's none of my business wanting to know what goes on in your life. I mean, really. There is a good chance I don't give a fuck about your life, so why do give a fuck about me.

I don't know what else to say or how to put it, but leave me alone. go eff yourself. Dammit, if you want to have a fun and exciting life then do something about it and live your life; don't go harassing others and making their life shitty. Hey it's not my fault your life is shitty; it's your fault. So leave me alone! There I said it! And last time I checked this is a free country and can excercise my 1st Amendment right.

A couple of weeks ago, as a last minute impulse I decided to go to Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings at the Wiltern. Don't know why I didn't buy the ticket sooner, but oh well. They were spectacular! I love them.

I grew liking to them when someone I was randomly talking to about music suggested that I check her out. That person said that she was clearly underrated and he was correct.

Yep, today is Dave Gahan's birthday. According to depechemode.com, Dave was born on May 9, 1962 in Epping, Essex, England. And that was great day indeed because who knew that baby Dave Gahan was going to be the frontman of one of the most influential bands of post modern rock and roll; of course the Beatles are the kings and the leaders of that 1st wave of English rock bands that rocked the world back in the 1960's, but Depeche Mode is part of the 2nd wave (during the 1980's).

I tell you, the 1st time I heard those guys via Request Video I was in love. I felt like I couldn't get enough of them. I was sold and addicted. I had to watch all their videos and had to listen to KROQ attentively so I can record them on my cassette player. OMG, I love DM! I especially loved that 1st hit, Just Can't Enough and apparently me and everyone else in the states couldn't get enough of Depeche Mode.

They, like Madonna, have been able to keep themselves "fresh" and "relevant" with every generation. Their fan base is huge and encompasses all ages and in every nation. They have influenced a lot of newer bands and there are many tribute bands that continue to carry their sound.

Here is a the making of "Comeback," my favorite song from their recent album, "Sounds of the Universe." I LOVE this song. It's such a great love song which talks about regrets.

This is a picture from my Holiday 2009 travels; the London Bridge over the Thames. It was a cold December day in London. Lisa and I went over there and just enjoyed beautiful scenery. I love pictures of water and great architecture. It was so breath taking. I like to enjoy stuff like this by not rushing and just closing my eyes and taking in all the sounds & smells of that location; especially water. Water is so relaxing. Love it! And look there is a red double decker bus. Yes, this is London!

The Golden State of Earthquakes...

I was debating as to what I was going to call this post while laying awake earlier today. Choices: 1. Calilfornia: Glitz & Glamour...Earthquakes, 2. California Love of Earthquakes or 3. Golden State of Earthquakes, etc...

As a California native, earthquakes are as common and a part of life like how hurricanes are to Floridians. As many jolts as we get, we should all be used to them, but that is easier said than done. Safety officials constantly blast that we need to prepare for that ”big one.” But I don't think anyone pays attention to public service announcements. And I don't think we will ever be that prepared to survive it. It's impossible.

Back in the day, I used to have a kit in my car. It contained about 4 days worth of stuff just in case it happened while at work; my job is 16 miles away from home. But since then, I bought a new car and never put it back in my trunk...dammit!

Anyway, as a child, I was oblivious to this phenomenon called “earthquakes.” I always slept through them and had no clue what my parents or teachers were talking about; and could care less. But one morning back in 1987, it all changed. I was a freshman in high school that one morning on October 1st. We were on our way to school when all of a sudden we thought we got a flat tire; so we pulled over (we were near Beverly Blvd via Garfield Ave) and apparently so many other cars ahead of us and behind us did, too. It was weird, but didn't think much of it. So we proceeded and about a block later we were dropped off at school.

I recall watching some of the girls all pale and shaken up, but didn't know what that was about. Anyway, as we (RE and I) went in to the campus everyone was sitting on the floor on the courtyard crying and or freaking out. The nuns quickly ordered us to join the rest. I was still confused as to what was happening at that point, but in a few minutes I realized what had just happened. I started to regret to have been dropped off because our ride was long gone. The nuns asked for me to call my parents to pick me up and that was going to be impossible (mom didn't drive & dad was at work). RE's mom was on her way to work and her dad was at work. “GREAT!!! Now we are stuck here forever”

Anyway, I went to the restroom and noticed that the mirrors were shattered & I think a window was broken as well. And soon after the ground started shaking and thought that the ground was going to break open and swallow us all to the center of the earth. Yeah, I had quite an imagination, so naturally I started to panic. I felt like calling my grandma who kinda lived nearby, but realized that she didn't drive. I thought "This is it. I am going to die in fucking Montebello with all these bitches. I can't believe this is how I am going to die. I can't drive home. I don't know how to take the bus back home. No one knows I am stranded out here and I am stuck with all these cranky nuns. And soon it's going to get dark (well not really it was only 8am-ish, but I figured I was going to be stranded for days) and I won't be able to see my family. Where am I going to sleep? What is going to happen? I wonder how are the Cantwell guys doing? Are they going to come over to console us?"

It was utter chaos but eventually we got home. RE's cousin's mom took us home. This ordeal lasted a good 3-4 hours. When I got a hold of my mom, I made her tell the nuns that RE's cousin's mom was authorized to take me home. And so we left. Later that day, I saw on the news what had actually happened and had parents drive me out to Whittier to see the extent of the damage. I was in shock for days! That day, I think I grew up quickly. That Whittier Narrows earthquake forever changed my life.

And today's morning jolt reminded of that day, October 1, 1987. Anyway, today's earthquake lasted about 7 seconds and I was in bed swaying sideways (north & south). Funny thing is that I always wake up 2-3 seconds before an earthquake happens. It never fails, ever! Well it took about an hour for me to fall asleep because I was expecting an aftershock right after, but nothing happened. Thank goodness nothing else happened.

Well at this point, all I can say to tourists or new residents: Welcome to the "Golden State of Earthquakes!" Sayonara!

What a lovely picture of Downtown L.A. overlooking the 110 North freeway. Beautiful and mesmerizing, I tell ya. Each time I drive through downtown, I become mesmerized by it. I know they are just tall buildings and there is a lot traffic around the Downtown vicinity, but it's great!! Hmm, maybe one day I'll move over there.

Oh really? well that's a first. And how is that possible? seriously? I still look like a teenager? Wow, I guess I have found the fountain of youth.

This is my latest pet peeve on FaceBook. I feel like the only reason why people from either high school and or grade school befriend each other is to find out how bad the other person looks now. Think about it. You haven't had any contact whatsoever since graduation day and all of a sudden you find each other and bam! you are friends. Which is fine, but the big giveaway is that the person doesn't really post much or comment on your posts or just doesn't do much on Facebook. So you know the other one is going through all your pictures and stuff just to find out how many wrinkles you have or how much weight you've gained. Sheesh!

Look, what's not say I am doing the same thing. I mean really, aren't we all hoping we look hotter than the other person? or that we are far more successful than the others? Sure I get curious here and there; I am only human, but at least I try to be more attentive with everyone. Yes, I try because after all, I can't be on the computer all day. I have other stuff to do than to be obsessing over everyones looks. Seriously.

So each time when someone posts on my wall or on others' walls "OMG, you look great. You haven't aged!" I am going to be pretending like I just did not see that post. I mean really!

I never realized how great and talented Amy Winehouse was. It's unfortunate she got too wrapped up with fame and her other personal issues. I'd wish she get her act together and work on another album; and she should collaborate with Mark Ronson again. Mark Ronson is quite talented as well.

This is the State Capitol building in Sacramento, CA. Isn't it beautiful & majestic? Well, I think it is. It's unfortunate that this great state of California, in all it's glory, is not so glorious with all it's budget woes. I am a California native & have been fascinated with this building ever since I drove by it a couple years ago. Now each time I head out to visit my relatives in Sacramento, I make sure I make a pit stop to the Capitol Building and enjoy the breath taking site. I invite you, if you haven't done so, to make a trip out to Downtown Sacramento and stop by and pay a visit to the State Capitol building. Heck you might even bump into our governor, Arnold Schwarzengger! You won't regret it and you'll wonder why you never had been there sooner.

Airplanes & sunsets: Fabulous darling!

I love this picture for many reasons. I travel quite a bit so I've become fascinated with airports, airplanes and anything airline industry related. This is such a beautiful picture of the sunset overlooking Long Beach airport. That you see is a JetBlue airplane in the background. BFF3 and I went to eat at the "Legends of Aviation Restaurant & Bar". It's great place because you are up and close to the tarmac. The airport is so small and so "old school" it's amazing. You actually board the airplane by walking on the tarmac. Seriously! It's that small. BFF3 said the airport setup is so 1950's. I totally recommend that you go and eat at the Legends restaurant, which is upstairs, if you like that sort of thing. Next time I'm going to dress all 1950's with a scarf over my head & sunglasses (a la Audrey Hepburn). Fabulous darling!

Well hello there! It's been a long time. I know, I'm sorry, but I've been too busy being a social butterfly. Phsst, what else is new, you say! Well yes and it's great as always.

Lately I've been hanging out with my former high school pals and then some. The SHM ladies & the Salesian men have been causing trouble everywhere they go. Well, not really. I'm telling you, I woke up the party beast in all of them; well at least I'd like to think that. Ever since that mini reunion I organized in December these people can't get enough of each other. Ah, I love it!

Well I've been back in town for almost a month and I haven't rested at all. England was great and I'm glad I went. It was quite the adventure. Well I think it's time start planning my next trip; perhaps Paris or somewhere local like Toronto. Eh, we'll see maybe I'll postpone it for next year.

Next up is West L.A. Burrito Project (WLABP). Ah, I love new and exciting projects. WLABP is going weekly starting today. Yep, which means that you will have more opportunities to help out. Because we are going weekly, the process is being streamlined for ultimate efficiency. We are helping to feed the homeless more often and we hope you can join us in doing that. I heart FaceBook! Why you may ask? Well a month ago I organized a mini high school reunion and it turned out fabulous! I invited the small amount of girls that are on FB and most showed up. Others couldn't come because of the rain or because they weren't geographically available. We met up at Phlight in Whittier, CA.

All showed up little by little and we were all stoked about seeing each other. For me, the last time I saw them was 18 years ago; graduation day. It was weird and great at the same time. High school was different back then. I was a different back then, as well. At first I was shy, but as the years went by I gained my confidence and became who I am now.

I went to a private all girls school in Montebello that was 10 miles away from home. Everyone lived every where; San Gabriel, El Monte, Mid City, East side, etc. We all came from all walks of life, but basically all latinas; some were Chinese or Caucasian.

Anyway, the idea of this mini reunion was prompted when another high school friend on FB had asked if anyone wanted to join her at this bar because she was moving in a couple of days. So I was like sure I'll go plus I hadn't seen her in 18 years. A few others came and it was great. I had a great time catching up with all.

Moving forward to last month, twelve ladies showed up. We ate and drank for quite some time. We laughed about the silly things we did back in the days. We laughed about the nuns and crazy teachers we had, costumes, uniforms, boys, etc. All in all it was fabulous.

After that we went to a dive bar nearby and continued the craziness. It was a rainy day that evening, but that didn't seem to stop us from enjoying ourselves. The party continued later that night at someone else's house. Good times!

England part 1

It's New Year's eve now in England and I've been in England for 10 days already and it seems less than that. I have no concept of time and it's partly great, but at the same time the fact that I have to go back home in 4 days is hard to swallow. I'm having too much fun and I want it to keep going on.

Everyone and everything has been great so far. I wouldn't have it any other way. Sure the temperature was unbearable at the beginning, but it's not so bad after all. I live near the Pasadena foothills and on a bad night the temps dip down to the 30 degrees fahrenheit and it's this cold in England. This trip has been quite an adventure thanks to BFF1. I love it.

So far I've been to London, Derby, Manchester, and Liverpool. We were supposed to go to Scotland, but because our trip got postponed due to snow storms in the East Coast, we had to cut that part out. Plus it was snowing there so I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much. Oh well. I've posted some pics on Facebook but will post them here upon my return.

So I am writing to you on the night that I was supposed to fly out to England for my vacation. The issue here? I am not leaving after all. Why you ask? Well our flight consisted of a stop in the East Coast and the entire East Coast is snowed in. Yep, a snow storm is preventing me from having fun; dammit! I wonder if this is why I wasn't nervous at all and was able to sleep through for 8 hours? Hmmm! Anyway, all flights in and out of the East Coast on all airlines are cancelled. We are supposedly leaving on Monday. We'll see.

So someone asked me what am going to do? Well life goes on so I'm doing the usual; bar hopping, Disneyland, sleeping, eating, getting a massage and some more sleeping. LoL I'm just a little annoyed that my vacation was cut short by 4 days. 4 days is a lot considering I don't go overseas that often. Ok whatever! on with my life. Peace out!

This song is great: I'd Rather Go Blind by Etta James. Heard it the other night while hanging out with my crew at Luck Baldwins. I have always loved this song. Heard it for the first time as a youngster through my dad. He would play his Etta James LP record on the console and I recall how much I liked the song even though I had no idea what the song meant, at the tender age of 3. Yes I was fully aware of my surroundings as early as 3. Anyway, this song really touches the soul and it's great to enjoy while having a pint.

Hey there, supposedly it's fall/winter now, but it sure doesn't feel like it in SoCal. Currently it's 75 F degrees, whereas in Boston it's 46 deg. and in London it's 43 deg. Sheesh, it's 56 deg. F in the Sacramento (NorCal) area; this is so unfair! I want it to be cold.

Anyway, I am still stoked about the Wolfmother show. Slash, formerly of Gun N Roses, made a special appearance. The crowd went insane when he went on stage. Well who wouldn't, he is an awesome bassist. And who would've thought that I, too, would've gone all excited, especially since we all know I'm not much of a Heavy Metal fan. Yes, Wow! Hmm, nothing much is on my mind that deems the light of day here on this blog. Oh yes, more parties are on the way that require my appearance. I know it's tough to be popular, but what can I do. FaceBook: my other social world

About 6 months ago, I joined the FaceBook network & blogged about it as well. At two weeks, I had about 13 friends and was content. Now I have 64 friends. Sure it's not much to some, but to me it's just fine. I'm not into collecting friends--Eh that's just me!

Mostly all of my friends are from the 2 private schools I went to (elementary & high school). Has FaceBook been my demise? I think not. Sure I'm kinda addicted, but it has it's positive aspects to it. I've reconnected with a lot of my school friends whom I haven't seen for 18 or 22 years. I've hung out with some and it's great. I'm glad to see that everyone has evolved to the great people that we all turned out to.

Another positive aspect of it, is the fact that I met more people through others. Because of FB, I got to be a part of Burrito Project (West L.A. & Silverlake). The people from both of these groups are fabulous! I'm not going to jump on the "I am thankful" bandwagon, but I AM happy that my friend Aimee convinced me to get a FaceBook account. I owe her a lot.

I know I can blab a lot on FB, but so can others. I love that FB lets you be who you want to be and say what you want to say. It's that freedom that allows everyone to unite virtually and share experiences and common interests in real time; that makes FB fabulous! I hate in when certain groups start attacking FaceBook or Twitter. That social media is evil and that it harvests child molesters, terrorists, etc. In that case, newspapers, the telephone, the television and books can harvest child molesters and terrorists. Whatever!

Seriously, if we live in that constant fear, then everyone should be locked up in their homes and not have any contact with the outside world. It's ridiculous when these groups try to find blame on every type of social media, including music. Unrestricted methods of art and communication sets the world free. We need to embrace it. The fact that some idiots decide to use social media for the wrong reasons is sad and unavoidable. This crap has always existed and it will continue to do so. It's an unfortunate part of life that we need to accept. And that only exists because fear and ignorance.

Recently I went with BFF2 to see and listen to H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama in Long Beach. He, of course, was talking about the root of all problems: Ignorance; which in turn plays out fear. If you think about it, he and the Buddha were right. If humans weren't so ignorant, then we wouldn't have all the problems we have and we would be happy and living harmoniously amongst each other. Think about it; it makes a lot sense.

So in essence, if everyone would embrace social media and make the most out of it for great purposes then we wouldn't have to hear the constant attacks on all types of media (music, FaceBook, Craigslist, television, etc). And if everyone would learn and embrace all the different things this world has to offer, then we wouldn't be constantly bombarded with all kinds lies and fears; because ignorance causes all the problems in the world.

Anyway, I heart FaceBook, and I heart all my friends. Yes, it's true and I love it. I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world. Peace out!

Charles Dickens on steriods: 3-D iMAX

Last weekend I went to go see Disney's Christmas Carol. Despite the mixed reviews I loved it. I went in with the mindset that I was going to see an animated movie about the classic by Charles Dickens and that famous actors were going to do voice overs on the characters. I read nothing and saw no previews before hand. And it was going to be on 3-D. I've never seen a film on 3-D Imax. Tickets were $16.50 (more than the ArcLight & without the reserved seating option) and thought this better be really good.

We put on our nice 3-D glasses and started watching the previews for Avatar, Alice In Wonderland, others and it was intense. WOWZA!!! I immediately thought that we were in for a treat; and indeed it was.

The animation & effects were great. I loved how Scrooge's home reminded of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. The entrance corridor, the dining room, Marley, etc. The most funniest part of the film was the ghost of Christmas present; Father Christmas. Father Christmas looked a "bear;" a big burly gay man. As a matter of fact, Father Christmas was only wearing a robe and was bearing his hairy chest; it was odd and hilarious! I guess Disney is embracing the GLBT community. Who would've thunk it. Well that explains Red T-shirt weekend in October. LoL

The beginning of the film and different parts through out the film reminded of the ride "Soarin'" at California Adventure. I'm telling you the effects were intense and great. The film & it's effects can be best described as: Charles Dickens on Steroids (but in a great way!)

I won't talk more about it because I don't want to spoil it for you, but I will say this: Watch it on 3-D Imax. It's the best money spent. And this film got me more excited about spending the Holidays in England. LUV, LUV!!

SHITmyCoworkerSays: EPIC!!!

A lot has been going on with me; great things as a matter of fact, but I will only talk about one. A couple days ago a coworker was saying random crazy stuff; like always. And naturally I couldn't stop laughing. Others joined in and we were wondering how she come up with this stuff. The stuff that comes out of her mouth is random and crazy. And this goes on everyday. So someone came up to me and said "Hey we should write this stuff down and put it on twitter. Why don't we create an account solely on all the shit she says?" I was sold.

Why didn't I think of this a long time ago? So we created SHIT My Coworker Says; @shitmycwrkrsays on twitter. As I was posting I was reliving the madness. I love it. My coworker shall remain nameless for fear of embarrassment. We'll see if this takes off or not, but overall this is all in good fun. Enjoy! Ok people! Here we are again with another edition of #FollowFriday on Twitter. It's mostly the usual suspects, but there are some new kids on the block; particularly SHITmyCoworkerSays aka @shitmycwrkrsays It's great and it has a lot of potential hope a lot of you follow it.

On a different note, I continue to be busy and most of the time it's great. Why? Well it's great to have fun every single day, but it's not great when one loses precious sleep; to some extent, that is. After many sleepless nights, I start looking like shit; make up no longer does wonders...LoL, it's true.

I have a birthday coming up and 2 more shows. I know, I had said no more shows, but who can resist missing Wolfmother and Matt & Kim or the Silversun Pickups? I missed Silversun at Coachella because I opted to watch Paul McCartney & Crystal Method instead. Well, I'm done spending money. I have to save for my trip to England.

Yes! I am super excited that my Christmas vacation to England was approved. I am so looking forward to it. I don't know what to expect, but who cares. I just know I will have a great time. This will be my second time traveling to Europe, but my first to England. I never have experienced snow, so it's sort of great. I know I won't be prepared for the different weather, but oh well. Can't find that new one by Tiesto or how about that film by Audrey Tatou at Target? Well of course you can't. You have to go to a specialty store (which are rare these days) or order online. Well if you live in L.A., SF, or Berkeley, you are in luck my friend because you will definitely find that and more at Amoeba Music.

You'll find original Beatles' vinyl, all foreign films, all genres on vinyl, all genres on CD, adapters (aka spiders) for 45 rpm records, gear, and much more. It's a candy store for all music enthusiasts. DJ's come here to supply their collections.

Because you can trade in your stuff, lots of hard to find gems can be found. I haven't had the privilege of seeking for a gem, but I have heard stories. They also have in-store performances by different musicians. And a couple times (months, actually) during the year they collaborate with Space 15 Twenty and host Movie Mondays; which I attend quite a bit.

They have two other locations in NorCal (San Francisco & Berkeley) which I haven't been to; odd considering how many times I go up there throughout the year. Go figure.

Amoeba Music is definitely an excellent place to find all kinds of sweets and treats. I heart Amoeba.

Lotsa Stuff

Definitely lotsa stuff is happening. As always, I've been busy, but not as much. I've come to a point where I should slow down, just a bit, that is. Realistically I can't do everything or please every one. I should maybe cut down on my number of friends, but I won't. Everyone is cool in their own and I like that; not all are like me or think like me.

I've cut down on concerts partly because I spent way too much money on them this year and I also need to save up for my UK trip. I've heard everything is much more expensive than in any other European country. If I go, I'll be going with BFF1. Luckily she knows her way around since she lived in London for a while. I'm a little excited now, but as time approaches I'm going to be a nervous wreck and super excited.

Let's see, a lot of my favorite bands are from England or Scotland: Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Franz Ferdinand (from Scotland), Joy Division, New Order, just to name a few. Hmm, I also like David Beckham, who is British, as well as Prince William. I also like Earl Grey tea...LoL. What else??? I like men with British accents...Yowza!

On a different note, I am pretty stoked about my new venture: helping the needy in a very minimalist way. As mentioned in a previous post, I started volunteering for Burrito Project Silverlake and now I joined another chapter (West L.A.). The groups are very different. One consists of a punk rock crowd/hipsters and the other consists of former college party animals (I really identify with this crowd because they remind me of my hey days). I like both crowds because they all share the same interest: helping the needy.

I am going to stick to both for as long as I can. I'm glad I stumbled on this thanks to social networking (FaceBook to be specific). I also started volunteering at the L.A. Regional Food Bank and will continue doing that because the need is great. I have been thinking of starting my own charity and started to look into it. I've been wanting to start a project for quite some time. I started talking to some people these last couple of days about my idea and started to do some research. I still want to do event planning, but I'm putting that in the back burner. We'll see what happens...definitely lotsa stuff going on.

I luv Domo! He's always angry & that makes him cute. I first discovered Domo a couple years ago when Target featured him/it for Halloween. All of their promotional displays, candy, some costumes were all about Domo. It was then that I fell in love. Indeed it was love at first sight.

And now 7-eleven will be decorating it's stores Domo style. I am so stoked about this. In fact my expectations are so high that I decided to visit 7-eleven (Santa Fe Springs) today only to find my illusions crushed. Why? They didn't have Domo coffee cups or the Fuji Frost slurpee. BITCHES! I was so annoyed that I didn't bother complaining. I am going to the one by house tomorrow. I know I will have better luck there.

Urth Caffe, DTLA; a great hang out!

If you ever been to Urth Caffe in SaMo or WeHo, you know how fabulous it is. The downside to the one in WeHo is that the parking is terrible on Melrose & traffic is kinda bad near there. The SaMo one is great, but sometimes it's a little too far. For a while I've been wanting to find the one in DTLA (Downtown L.A.) and I finally found it last weekend. It's great overall (esp. parking & distance).

I live near DTLA as a matter of fact (15-20 min) and I've been spending lots of time in DTLA lately. I was doing jury duty, Burrito Project Silverlake distribution, walking through Olvera Street, the wholesale district, the Broadway district and driving all around Alameda St. (Chinatown, Homegirl Cafe, Union Station, Little Tokyo, 4th Street & L.A. Regional Food Bank).

Anyway, Urth is known for their fabulous organic coffees and teas. They also offer a delicious cafe style menu (food, salads, desserts, etc) along with free Wi-Fi. The setting lends itself as a place to be and to be seen at. It has a really nice outside dining patio area with umbrellas & heat lamps. A lot of artsy locals and Hollywood types (and wannabes) go there. Urth DTLA is nestled in the Arts District area of DTLA on Hewitt between Alameda, 4th, 5th, and Palmetto Streets.

Fall is here (California style, that is, meaning it's not completely cold, it's still warm regardless). I want it to be colder so I can start wearing my Kirkland "Ugg-like" boots. They feel so nice and warm, but I'm afraid I'll melt like a popsicle (that melted in one minute in 100 degrees weather). The heat here is crazy. It's only "cold" for about 1.5 months out of the year. There have been winters when it was 95 degrees outside. I mean WTF!

Well I'm kinda looking forward to getting a year older next month. I haven't planned anything special because we have been threatened at work as to not granting our vacations even though we have accrued the time. I want to go to England and Scotland in December with BFF1, but I'm hoping it will be granted. Fingers crossed.

For all of those of you that know me well, I am just plain lazy. And I have no shame in admitting to this. So I am not going to type every single username so this is what I'm gonna do from now on. These are my recommendations (hopefully I didn't miss anyone, if so sorry darlings!) I will be reposting this post on Twitter every week.

Here is another Plinky prompt for you: If you found a bus pass where would you go with in 50 miles (or something like that?)

Well 1st of all, that is an unfair question because 50 miles isn't far enough and I have a car so driving to any place is much easier and faster. It's not like I live the fucking boonies. Plinky, that is such a dumb question.

I would have liked to have gone to Santa Barbara but that is 100 miles one way. I certainly don't want to take the bus to the I.E. because, no offense, it's not that exciting. Kevin & Bean (from KROQ 106.7) have best described as being all dirt and super hot all the time. So why would anyone one go out there via the bus, you have to be nuts to do that.

In that case, I'd rather go the Mission in San Juan Capistrano. Why? I never been. I am Catholic (well not all that religious, just understanding). And I hear it's really pretty and therefore I want to go. So why not use that bus pass that I found (hypothetically) to go there, esp. since the traffic on the 5 freeway (into the OC) can be bad.

These three are my best friends forever. They are there for me through thick and thin & they all know my most deepest & darkest secrets. No one else knows me best like they do. They know the real Lupe. While others think they have figured me out or have drawn conclusions about me, only the BFF's know what is up and who am I.

I know this sounds crazy, but they are the only ones that I can trust regardless of how psycho or angry they are on any given day. Those 3 got my back. And I count on them for anything. Most importantly, I love them to death (literally, j/k...LoL) Now that is true love. LoL

You Look Goooood!!!!!

I am starting to hate that comment! I mean really!?!? Just the other day, I bumped to an ex-colleague who I last saw 7 months ago (not 7 years ago) and she said "Hey!!! You look gooood!" And without thinking I said "oh, you tooooooo!" and that was it. We didn't exchange anymore words. It was bizarre. To be honest we were never great buddies, or anything remotely similar to that.

When she said that, I thought to myself, "Wow, I must look like shit, but she's too nice to say anything." Hmm, maybe the fact the I looked older, 7 months after the fact, may have prompted her to freak out and say "Hey, you look gooood!" I don't know, but I thought it was a weird remark especially when I saw her earlier this year. How bizarre!

Anyway, this comment prompted me to think back at how many times I've said that to people: "Hey!!! You look gooood!" I wonder if the recipients of my comment thought the same. Though in these cases, I hadn't seen these ladies for 2 years or more and I honestly thought they looked good because they looked the same or they looked "Hot!" or really nice; which in that case I'll say, "well someone's looking Hot today!"

Hmm, but if you think about it, I am implying that they look hot today, but not yesterday or a month ago. Ok this is bullshit thinking! But I can't help to wonder, what people's remarks really mean? Are they just being nice? politically correct? sensitive to others feelings? being whatever about everything and anything? or are they just robots?

Hmm! that is an interesting question to one that I'll never get an answer to. I dunno, what do you think that is?

My Conundrum & Mission

Something that has been on my mind for some years is volunteering and or giving back. It's sad that at this point in my life, I haven't done much. Why? Well I guess, like most, it's because I've been selfish; to some extent. It's all about gimme gimme. I've been blessed with living a comfortable life, financially. I have what I want and don't need much. With that I've given to charity, but that's it. I guess I've been one of those that fixes everything with money. To some extent I feel guilty, but not completely.

The only volunteering I've done, that I can recall, is working the phones at KCRW, and that came about a couple years ago when I was ill. At that point in my life I realized that my life was meaningless. I had nothing to feel good about. Sure I had been traveling, got a degree, partied a lot, hung out with friends, etc.; but I had reached a point in my life in which I felt empty. If I died now, I would have nothing to account for or feel good about. I was in a deep void that I had to get out of quickly.

I recall this one night, driving on Del Mar in Pasadena with BFF2 (me and my vivid recollections, LoL), and listening to Jason Bentley on KCRW. He started talking about the Winter Pledge drive and how they needed volunteers. I said to BFF2, you know, I heard about this some nights ago and thought that I might want to do this. Would you want to do it with me? And she said yeah and that she'd been wanting to do it, too. I was happy and told her that about the void I had been feeling lately, my other issues and that I wanted to do something productive in which I got nothing in return.

I was ecstatic and we signed up for 2 days and I felt great. I've been volunteering ever since, but lately have felt that it wasn't enough. I've been wanting to volunteer at the L.A. Food Regional Bank, but haven't gone because no one in my family wants to go. They are all lazy as me because we have to be there by 8:30am on a Saturday morning; it's awful. I am willing to sacrifice some sleep, but they don't want to. I can go by myself, but would rather have some company and feel great together.

The sad thing is that I come from a hardcore Catholic family that doesn't live an exemplified "Christian life." It's so contradictory, hypocritical and sad. I wasn't raised on giving back to others. Sure I learned all that at parochial school, but my family never practiced that. It's odd, but true. When I realized, at an early age, that my family was weird and "blah," I strived to be different and I didn't want to be part of the stupid cycle.

Like I said I have done and accomplished many things that my family (immediate, cousins, etc) hasn't, but I want to do more. A couple of nights ago, I finally decided to volunteer for Burrito Project Silverlake and it was great yet humbling. I wished I'd done this before. I think the people that organize this (Jenny & Tony) are great. I was quite impressed and will do it again. I'm gonna slowly recruit friends to do this because the need is there. The current economic crisis has really worsened the homeless numbers. It was sad to see the number of homeless in DTLA. And that makes me wonder how bad it is in every city throughout the nation.

Final thoughts: will make it my mission to help others through volunteering and donations. The purpose of this post is not to receive a pat on the back or to receive a high five. I don't believe in glorification and it defeats the purpose. I like to do things quietly, but I have to make some noise to inform and have others join the cause. If I recall, the Bible mentions that we should do good deeds and not expect anything in return (including recognition & glorification). So that is my motto. Peace out!

Skate & Whip IT!

I'm excited about watching this film; Whip It! For a while I've been wanting to see a L.A. Derby Dolls match. but haven't had the chance. Maybe after watching this film will inspire my friends to go with me to catch a "bout."

Kick ass chick flicks are quite uncommon, so I definitely want to see"Whip It!" This Saturday will be the sneak peak preview & apparently they will be giving away t-shirts. If I were a piece of furniture, what would I be? Well that's easy. I'd be my leather recliner from Ikea. Everyone including me loves that chair. It'd be great because everyone would relax on me, watch their favorite television program on me, and they can even carry a conversation all in the comfort of me. And if someone sitting at the dining table behind me said something, then the person would just swivel back and reply without getting up. AH! What a great feeling to be loved and be someone's favorite piece of furniture. By the way, this chair comes with a foot rest/stool. So the foot stool would be the extension of me. Wow! I sure would be a great piece of furniture. Oops, I mean, my leather recliner with foot rest/stool is a great piece of furniture.

My dream team & my dream vacation...

All three are like me; we like to travel and we all like a good adventure anytime. And probably the dream vacation would take place in Europe because we all love Europe and can't get enough of it. *sigh* So here is why these three individuals would be part of my dream team. Awesome!

BFF1
Because she is BFF1 and she is great! I like that most of the time she is willing to do stuff and has an open mind. As a matter of fact, Lisa & I have taken lots of trips together; Chicago, WA, Sac-town, etc.

BFF2
BFF2 is great as well. She likes spontaneous stuff and is constantly on the go, like me. Eileen and I have gone to a lot of music shows and it would be great to go on a trip with her.

My sista
Liz always willing to go anywhere anytime. She loves trips; that is why she's a flight attendant. She will tag along anytime. She, like BFF2 is always on the go. It helps that she is open minded like Lisa.

As time goes by, I'm getting lazier & lazier. Why? Well I think I just have been tired lately. I should, maybe, slow down on my outings. Summer is almost over and realized that I'm looking forward to Fall. I never really cared for cold weather or Fall, but as the years have gone by my priorities have changed. I truly like fall clothing and the cooler weather.

And what I like is that cold weather doesn't stop me from going out. LoL In fact since my birthday is in the Fall, I love partying/celebrating the entire month. Eh, life is too short, to sit around, anyway. I'm looking forward to more shows (Tiesto, No Duh, DM Convention, Ravi Shankar, etc) and great talk from the Dalai Lama himself. I think he's such a cool & humble person and it would be beyond great to see him. If all goes well, I will be attending a seminar that he is giving. Sweet!

Hello there again. Well, I know this sounds old, but I'm continuously busy. So much stuff to do and yet so little time available. I have been partying/going out a lot. It's great, but I wonder how much longer this will last. Well I hope it will continue past my birthday (November). In the meantime, I'm enjoying it as much as possible and dividing my self amongst everyone as much as I can. Gosh this sounds awful if you think about it, but "EH!"

Last night, one of my highlights of the month, was the Yeah Yeah Yeahs concert at the Greek in L.A. It would be my 1st time seeing them. It would have been my 2nd if I had stayed the extra day at the Coachella Music Festival, but it was impossible (too much stuff going on). Anyhoot, two bands opened for them: Yacht and the Breeders.

Well regardless, the YYY didn't disappoint. I fell in love with them when their 1st album came out in 2003. I decided to buy the current one, It's Blitz, and it's also great. I've mentioned this many times on Twitter and on Blip that the 2nd single,"Heads Will Roll" from "It's Blitz" should be in Sofia Coppola's next film. "Heads Will Roll" reminds of the "Marie Antoinette" film and soundtrack. I truly enjoy that film and it's a must see for all who love that period in French history and for those who love rock and roll.

Anyhow, I will stop raving about that song. Here is the video of "Zero" from their aforementioned album, which I found on YouTube. You can subscribe to their YouTube channel and check out their video, but I think some stuff is restricted for U.S. viewers (don't know why); yeahyeahyeahsmusic.

By answering "record" that doesn't make me like 100 years old or a grandma because I'm none of the above. I'm only 35, so yeah. I grew up in the 80's. Most teens now are into the 80's and dress it. I went to the Coachella Music & Arts Festival and was trippin' at the crazy flashback right before my eyes. All these kids dressed in 80's garb. I was like WTF! I know I had been inhaling all this weed, but I know this wasn't 1987, I was quite aware it was 2009 (and stll is, duh!)

Whoa! It was so crazy seeing all these kids dressing like I used to do so. Anyway, it wasn't too long ago that music was available on records aka vinyl and were available in 2 formats: 33 & 45 rpm. It was great. I remember the console my parents had. I still have my records and miss playing them. *sigh*

I also listened to music on cassettes and then on CD (compact disc) format; kinda reminiscent to vinyl, but only digital. When I used to visit one of my aunts (who is quite wealthy), she used to play her 8-tracks. The player & the fat cassettes were weird looking to me, but whatever.

Yes, times have changed and so has music. And now finally (almost 2 years ago), I'm up to date with the current digital revolution, the mp3 player. Gotta love technology. Though I still buy CD's at my favorite music store, Amoeba in Hollywood (a candy store for music enthusiasts) b/c I've been burned when my laptop has crashed; so at least I got my CD's as backup to all my music. Yeah, I'm still kinda old school that way. LoL

Wow, I just realized I know what each music format mentioned above is, but that doesn't make me old. It just makes me more knowledgeable. Most kids only know CD's (if that) and mp3 players only. Well, whatever. =)

His tour is about to start and I may go see him in Massachusetts, not sure though. I am sad he's not coming to California. *SIGH**

I saw them at Coachella earlier this year. I love love Franz Ferdinand; they are great...in the meantime enjoy some of their tracks from their current album, "Tonight."

Well folks, it's been 6 months since I last posted a personal note. On the last note I had said I was too busy to post anything. Well the same still holds true. Since then I went on a mini vacation w/ BFF1 to Northern California. I go up there a lot because I have family there. I pretty much know my way around the Sacramento area. Sactown is great in it's own way and the suburbs are a different story; super boring.

Since I have an annual pass to Disneyland, I've been going a lot with my crew. It's a great place to hang out and spend lots of time at and it's time to go again. LoL I, also have been hanging out a lot with my regular crew, BFF's, a new crew from FaceBook & my groceras. It's great hanging out with different people all time, but time is scarce.

I, also, have been to a lot of shows. I saw No Doubt at the Gibson (at Universal Studios), Tiesto at the Sacramento Convention Center, Duran Duran at the OC Fair, and Depeche Mode at the Hollywood Bowl & at the Honda Center (Anaheim, CA) and went to a free show they put out back in April for the Jimmy Kimmel Show, as well; whew, I think I covered them all.

Next week I'll be going to the Franz Ferdinand show at the Forum followed by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs in September at the Greek. Yes, music is my life. It always has been. I've been into different genres throughout my life, but at the end all music it's great. It's a reflection of who you are and what is going on with your life at that moment. The same holds true for the musicians themselves. They write about what is going on in their lives; new love, break ups, new job, asshole co-workers, death of loved ones, etc. *SIGH*

So, I have lots of pics to post from all the shows and my trip, but it takes a lot of work, effort, and time. And I need more time to sqeeze in everything. There is so much to do, but not enough time. I want to do a lot before I kick the bucket (whenever that'll be). I love life for the most part. It's great that there is a lot to do and enjoy, but time & and money are of essense. *SIGH*

Well gotta roll folks. Must take a short nap, then off grocery shopping for taco night at a friend's house. In the meantime, I'll continue to post funny things and not some not so funny. I do want to point out, that if you get offended by anything I say or put up, well sorry, but that wasn't my intention. My outlook on life is loose and I try to see the best in everything. I don't take anything personal and nothing shocks me (well only a little, but then I get over it).

This was posted on FaceBook a couple days ago by one of my high school friends. In case you don't know I went to a private all-girl school in Montebello (bordering EastLos); so hence the "chola" influence.

Anyway, this video doesn't reflect that I'm a chola or that I live the "ese" lifestyle. I do have cousins that are cholos and that are probably still part of gangs, but that's none of my business. We all choose our lifestyles, but whatevs.

RIP John Hughes

About 3 weeks ago, America's favorite 80's film director/producer/writer, John Hughes passed away of a sudden heart attack. I have been a long time fan Mr. Hughes' films since high school and is still deeply saddened by the loss. Why? Did I know him personally? No I didn't know him personally, I wish I did as so many other fans would want to, but he seemed like this really rad person.

I mean he made the Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Ferris Bueller's Day off, Pretty in Pink, Home Alone, and many others. If you think about it, one can say he is the father of Teen Flicks. If you look back in time, John Hughes is the only film producer/writer/director to produce a lot movies geared toward teens. Us Gen X'ers felt, felt like someone knew us, what we liked or didn't like, what dilemmas we faced on a daily basis (i.e. peer pressure, dating, parents, acceptance...). John Hughes knew us & portrayed it well. We were all hooked.

The day of his passing I took a Facebook poll about my favorite flick and had posted this as well on Facebook:

The response was great. A lot of my friends were reminiscing about their favorite flicks & how it was great growing up in the 80's. And then one of them said, "are you kidding me? It's an end of an era." I was a mess. It's so true what Sandra had said. OMG, the good times are coming to an end. How awful!

For the poll, I picked Pretty in Pink, but it was a close call because alot of his films are really good and so it was a close call between, Ferris Bueller, Home Alone, and the Breakfast Club; it's a really tough decision. Some had the same dilemma as well. That's what I mean, JH knew what we were feeling and he put it out there. And the music he picked was great as well. We were introduced to Psychedelic Furs, OMD, Oingo Boingo, Simple Minds, The Smiths, Echo & the Bunnymen, and the list goes on.

Case in point, John Hughes' films left an impression on all Gen X'ers & JH enthusiasts alike. I recommend that you watch his films, if haven't done so already. I would recommend that you start with Ferris Bueller's Day Off, then follow it by Sixteen Candles, and then by The Breakfast Club. After you're done you'll see what I mean. I can go on all day writing about each teen flick, but I won't; but I will leave you with these 4 links to 4 blog posts. Foodie Raids in Norwalk, CA

On Wednesday night (8/12), I decided to get my grub on at the Kogi taco truck. I love kogi food. It is the latest craze in taco trucks. The truck has a blog and a twitter account. Kogi operates Tuesday through Saturday throughout Greater L.A. The company has 3 trucks (Azul, Verde, and Roja) and their schedule is posted daily on their twitter account: @kogibbq

Well the other night AZUL (their newest truck all tricked out with an Alpine sound system & tv monitors that display the menu) was making it's rounds at the Norwalk Costco from 10:30pm to 1am. Me and other co-workers were excited about it and were planning on treating ourselves to some Kogi. It was great, it was a library family affair. To my surprise I was 6th in line. I have always had to wait between and 1.5 to 4 hours for my food, but today I scored; I was 6th in line. This was too good to be true.

Indeed it was because as I paid for my order the cops showed up, good ol' Norwalk Sherrifs. They were informing us via their megaphone that if we didn't move our cars we would get cited since we were parked on private property (Costco parking lot). At 10:30 who cares about parking. Costco had closed at 8:30 and customers are gone by 9pm. I should know, I'm a Costco member. I mean WTF is your problem Costco! I feel like writing a letter to Costco complaining about their rudeness. They were very rude. I understand if the store was still open & we were disrupting the business; impeding custumers or staff from getting to the store. Of course not, it's fucking 10:30 in the evening. The staff that is still there parks on the opposite end of the lot (behind the warehouse).

The Kogi clientelle isn't crazy at all, well the exception of yours trully, j/k. 80% of the clientelle are Asian. I mean, come on, who has heard of Asians being rude and unrully in a food line? Please people, get over yourselves. The couple of "Mexicans" that were there felt like a typical "migra raid" in L.A. We are used to this shit, so to speak; personally I have never been part of those raids because thankfully I'm not an "illegal" citizen-I was actually born here. LoL Anyway, now I know how it feels to be chased down by the fucking cops. And guess what? It felt good. It was exhilirating; I felt like a rebel. LMAO

After all that running around I ended up getting my food, a tofu burrito & 2 tofu tacos. I told the cops politely that I had already paid for my food and that I wasn't planning on leaving without my food (bitch!, j/k I didn't say that, but I wanted to...). I had heard that a co-workers (@martooska) sister (@naninani90), yelled at the cops. She said something to the effect that it was her birthday and she wasn't leaving without her Kogi. LMAO. Good for her! Damn, Kogi, what's in the food that makes us so crazy (j/k)?!?!? ...LoL

Whew! what an adventure that was that night. I mean I've done crazy things when it comes to food (many midnight taco runs to King Taco & other places). Well I will say this, nothing gets in between a foodie and his/her food. Foodies will endure all types of torture & obstacles, even like the Foodie Raids in Norwalk.
